When ML ?

Machine learning (ML) derives from artificial intelligence (AI), which originated as a scientific discipline in the mid-20th century. The origins of machine learning may be traced back to the 1940s and 1950s, when academics began investigating the possibility of developing computer programmes that could learn from data.

The perceptron, developed by Frank Rosenblatt in 1957, was one of the first influential contributions in ML. The perceptron was a sort of neural network that was capable of learning and making judgements depending on incoming data. It paved the way for many following advances in machine learning.
